Dealing with tax issues? Get an attorney

Last week, we wrote a post about the rights people have when they are dealing with the Internal Revenue Service. These are important rights that everyone needs to know before they begin interacting with the IRS. However, the specific situation that makes up your case is almost certainly going to be different than what someone else is going through. Each tax case is unique.

This uniqueness means that it is hard to predict exactly what will become of your case. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare. Interacting with the IRS can be a trying and confusing time, so you need to be organized and ready for anything. The best way to do this is to consult with an experienced tax attorney.

At Allen Barron, we have been handling tax cases for many years, and we can help you or your loved ones get through these difficult times. If you are dealing with back taxes; if you have been hit with a tax lien; if the IRS is coming after your home or business; or if there are issues with your tax filing; we can help in any case.

Remember that when it comes to tax issues, one of the worst things you can do is procrastinate. It is easy to put off your dealings with the IRS (or your dealings with any tax issue, for that matter) but don’t do it. Get in touch with the IRS early in the process, and have an attorney advising you so that you are well-equipped to handle the situation.
