IRS Warns Your Signature on Your Return Is Under Penalty of Perjury

The IRS has already announced this year that it will be less responsive to questions from US taxpayers, and that refunds (especially on manual returns) will be delayed.  Blaming recent budget cuts, IRS commissioner John Koskinen has expressed his concern about the “poor service” he expects from the IRS in coming months.

That being said, he is also warning Americans and US taxpayers not to attempt to take advantage of the IRS or increase the size of their returns by inventing figures out of thin air.  “You sign your return under penalty of perjury,” Koskinen said.  That means your money, your assets and accounts, and yes, your actual freedom are on the line.

At Allen Barron we take these concerns off of the shoulders of our US taxpayer clients.  From business clients to US expats, and from those with foreign investments to those who have substantial holdings and interests our team of legal, tax and accounting professionals are prepared to serve you in a convenient and comprehensive “one stop” service.  All communications can be protected under the “attorney-client privilege” to ensure that you are able to have a full and candid discussion with our team, and that your returns can be signed with confidence.  Call us for a free consultation at 866-631-3470 today, and learn more about the comprehensive “single source” alternatives at Allen Barron.
